Framed Persian Pictorial Silk & Wool Souf Carpet ("Bighorn or Rocky Mountain Sheep")

This distinctive Persian pictorial Souf carpet renders a wildlife study set in a rugged alpine landscape. The composition depicts bighorn sheep navigating rocky mountain crags, framed by an ornamental geometric border with woven typography naming the subject in stylized English lettering alongside traditional Persian calligraphic signatures.

The color palette features natural sandy beige, warm gold, deep navy blue, teal, and soft slate gray tones, brought to life through the fine relief-weave texture and subtle luster signature to Souf craftsmanship. Enclosed in a heavily carved, antique gold-finished frame, this unique piece fuses natural history illustration with master Persian textile artistry.
