Framed Persian Pictorial Silk & Wool Souf Carpet ("The Lion Hunt")

This dramatic Persian pictorial Souf carpet renders a classic Orientalist narrative scene featuring a high-stakes lion hunt in remarkable detail. Woven with painterly depth, the composition depicts mounted horseback hunters and camel riders in traditional attire engaging lions in an open landscape under a soft sky.

The tapestry displays a rich color palette of crimson red, warm gold, ivory, tan, and cobalt blue, highlighted by the dimensional relief and shimmering texture signature to high-density Souf weaving. Elegantly encased in an ornate, carved gilded frame, this extraordinary piece seamlessly combines master textile weaving with dramatic fine art storytelling.
