Contemporary Persian Silk & Wool Souf Rug ("Rust & Slate Abstract Medallion")

This contemporary Persian Souf rug presents a striking abstract composition that subtly echoes traditional medallion and border architecture through a heavily eroded, distress-finished lens. The design features dense, speckled texturing and painterly color distressing that obscure and reveal underlying geometric motifs like an ancient fresco.

The vibrant color palette centers on warm terracotta rust and copper tones paired with deep slate gray, steel blue, charcoal, and flashes of luminous ivory highlights. Expertly crafted with the signature raised relief-weave texture and radiant sheen of high-density silk-and-wool Souf construction, and finished with delicate fringe along the ends, this unframed floor covering offers a compelling statement bridging ancient Persian design structure with modern abstract expressionism.
